based on my university graduation project about the cloak, Beduin women from the pre Islamic period used to cover their bodies from head to toe with with a small hole for only one eyes to see.

I'll get you the name of the book as a reference ASAP.

both men and woman do that, aslong as they're at the desert ..

(atleast in israel, bedouins at the northern parts rarly put on a "full cover")
